Woodruff approved second readings to annex 53 acres on Miller Road and about 205 acres on Highway 221, and cleared a contract for a grant-funded sewer line extension.
The Woodruff Times reported on April 11, 2026 on actions from the Woodruff City Council's March meeting. Here is our summary.
Annexations: council approved second reading to annex just over 53 acres on Miller Road, for a housing development already underway that will have about 180 homes, and about 205 acres on Highway 221 at the owner's request, with no development planned yet. Together they add more than 250 acres to the city.
Sewer line: a resolution lets the city manager contract for the sewer line extension along Highway 221, paid for by a $1 million grant the city received.
Fair Housing Month: council again declared April Fair Housing Month, an annual step HUD requires for the city to stay eligible for some housing grants and programs.
City Council meets the last Tuesday of each month at City Hall, and meetings are open to the public.
