SCDOT Closes the Woodruff Road (S-146) Bridge Over the Enoree for Repairs

SCDOT planned to close the S-146 bridge over the Enoree River around March 10 for repairs, with a detour posted and reopening projected by late April.

The Woodruff Times reported on March 16, 2026 that the South Carolina Department of Transportation would temporarily close the Woodruff Road (S-146) bridge over the Enoree River in Spartanburg County for repairs. Here is our summary.

SCDOT's notice of March 6 said the closure would begin on or around March 10, with the bridge projected to reopen by late April, weather and progress permitting. A detour was posted. Woodruff Road and Highway 146 stayed open to local traffic except at the bridge itself.

SCDOT asked drivers to slow down, watch for signs and crews, and allow extra time.

This repair closure is separate from SCDOT's later proposal to replace the Enoree River bridge, which we covered in October.

This is our own summary; the full story, by co-editor Vareva Harris, is at The Woodruff Times (link below).
