Woodruff Expands by 350 Acres, Approves Budget with Focus on Growth and Community Events
Council passed a ~$7 million 2025–26 city budget, with a 3% raise, two new officers and City Hall auditorium upgrades, and annexed 350+ acres on Fountain Inn Road.
Woodruff City Council unanimously approved City Manager Lee Bailey's proposed 2025–2026 budget of about $7 million. It includes a 3 percent cost-of-living raise for city employees; new lighting and sound for the City Hall auditorium so it can host more events; two new police officers with vehicles and equipment; a permit and business-license technician; and a social media and events position. "It's a realistic budget," Bailey told council.
Council also annexed more than 350 acres along Fountain Inn, Godfrey Town and Phillips roads, all requested by 100 percent of the owners. The land was zoned Planned Development, which allows retail, commercial and residential uses together.
