Road Widening and a New Signal Underway at Miller and Cross Anchor Roads

SCDOT-required work at Miller Road and Cross Anchor Road is meant to handle the traffic expected when the new Woodruff High School opens in August 2026.

The Woodruff Times reported on April 15, 2026 that road work is underway near the new Woodruff High School campus. Here is our summary.

SCDOT-required construction is in progress at Miller Road and Cross Anchor Road: the road is being widened and a traffic signal added, to improve traffic flow and safety. Spartanburg School District Four expects a big rise in daily traffic once the school opens.

Superintendent Dr. Aaron Fulmer said safety for students, families and staff is the top priority: "Our focus is ensuring safe and efficient access to the new campus for everyone."

The district's transition plan, including relocating teachers and some grade levels, was expected to be finished by mid-summer, ahead of the August 2026 start. (In January the school board approved $3.5 million for these high school road improvements; see our earlier story.)

This is our own summary; the full story, by editor Vareva Harris, is at The Woodruff Times (link below).
