Woodruff Wrestling Navigating Busy Schedule

The Woodruff Times reports that Woodruff High's wrestling program kept up its turnaround under head coach Austin Weathers through a busy run of tournaments and region duals, despite injuries.

Weathers, a Woodruff alumnus, returned after leading Hillcrest to the 2021 5A team state title. The Wolverines finished sixth at the T.L. Hanna Jacket Invitational and 11th of 20 at the West-Oak Invitational while missing four starters. They lost their region opener at Broome 45-33. The girls' team placed seventh of 18 at the Lady Rebel Invitational at Byrnes.
