Medical Group of the Carolinas Opens New Primary Care Facility in Woodruff
Spartanburg Regional's Medical Group of the Carolinas has opened a 17,000-square-foot primary care building in Woodruff with 30 exam rooms, on-site lab and digital X-ray.
The Woodruff Times, in an October 2 report by publisher Tracy Sanders, says Medical Group of the Carolinas, part of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, has opened a new primary care facility in Woodruff.
The 17,000-square-foot building has 30 exam rooms, laboratory services, digital X-ray and a procedure room. It starts with three physicians and one physician assistant and is accepting new patients. The report says on-site lab testing includes blood counts, urinalysis and A1C, and that mobile MRI, CT and mammography services are expected to visit as demand grows.
The building was designed for growth: an elevator shaft is already in place for a possible second floor, and the first floor can eventually hold up to 10 providers. According to the report, planning began in 2021 and construction started about a year before the opening, with support from Mayor Kenneth Gist and city officials.
