Update: How to Reclaim a Cat or Help Following the Woodruff Animal Seizure

The Spartanburg County Pet Resource Center explains how to reclaim a cat once surrendered to CLiFs No Kill Shelter & Rescue, and how neighbors can foster, adopt, volunteer or donate.

The Woodruff Times shared an update from the Spartanburg County Pet Resource Center on October 22, 2026, following the animal seizure in Woodruff. Here is our summary.

Anyone hoping to reclaim a cat that was previously surrendered to CLiFs No Kill Shelter & Rescue should email the center at prcinfo@spartanburgcounty.gov with proof of ownership and as many details as possible: microchip number, sex and age, markings, photos, vet records, and roughly when the cat was surrendered.

The center says its staff, fosters and rescue partners are caring for the cats, and neighbors can help in four ways: foster (the center supplies food and support), adopt, volunteer, or donate. Cat litter and wet and dry cat food are needed most, and donations can be left outside the Adoption Lobby. At the time of the update the center had a $25 adoption special, with fees waived for pets there longer than 30 days. Call ahead for current details.

Spartanburg County Pet Resource Center, 1591 Southport Road, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Pet support: 864-586-2918.
