From Woodruff Wolverine to Hometown Legacy: Celebrating Tory Dandy

Woodruff native Tory Dandy received a Legacy Award from Mayor Kenneth E. Gist during this year's Tory Dandy Day celebration. The award honors how he has given back to his hometown.

The recognition builds on Aug. 29, 2020. That day, the cities of Woodruff and Spartanburg honored Dandy with proclamations, he received the Key to the City, and Aug. 29 was proclaimed Tory Dandy Day in Spartanburg County. The Times notes that he funds an annual scholarship for a graduating Woodruff High senior. Since 2013, the Tory Dandy Foundation has given more than $250,000 in scholarships in Spartanburg County.
