July 2026 Permits: 66 Issued, With Riverbend Construction and a 7-Eleven in the Works
The city issued 66 permits in July 2026. At least 30 were for new homes across seven subdivisions, several were for building work at the Riverbend Athletic Complex, and a batch were for a new 7-Eleven at 6620 Highway 101.
The Woodruff Times went through the City of Woodruff's permit report for July 2026. The city issued 66 permits between July 1 and July 31.
New homes led the list. At least 30 building permits went to new houses in Autumn Glen, Cavins Farm, Harrier Point, Lakestone, Neely Park, Rutledge Estates and Varner Station, with more on West Hayne Street and a duplex on Theo Circle. That could add up to at least 31 new housing units. Neely Park (Blaire Ridge Way) and Lakestone (Jubilee Trail) each had four, and Varner Station (South Ivyblake Court) had three.
The report also shows construction under way at the Riverbend Athletic Complex, 101 Sportsmanship Way. There were permits for a concession building, fire sprinklers, plumbing, mechanical work and other facilities. The city has said the complex is due to open in summer 2027.
Several permits were for a new 7-Eleven at 6620 Highway 101, covering site work, grading, landscaping, road improvements, a fuel system and temporary power. The report gives no opening date.
Eight demolition permits were issued, mostly for properties along East Georgia Road, plus a grading permit at one of them.
The smaller items included a certificate of occupancy for a hair salon at 113 W. Georgia St. (the address of Georgia and Mane Salon, which held its grand opening in late August), sign permits on North and South Main Street, an electric-vehicle charger on West Claywalk Road, and the usual home additions and trade work.
Keep in mind that a permit lets a project go ahead. It doesn't mean the work has started or been finished.
