Lisa Abercrombie Steps Down After 13 Years as Ministry Coordinator at Woodruff First Baptist

After 13 years as full-time Ministry Coordinator at Woodruff First Baptist Church, Lisa Abercrombie was set to step down at the end of April 2026; the church honored her with a lunch on April 19.

The Woodruff Times reported on April 15, 2026 that Lisa Abercrombie would step down at the end of the month from her full-time role as Ministry Coordinator at Woodruff First Baptist Church, after 13 years. Here is our summary.

Abercrombie came to the role while directing Helping Hands Ministries of Woodruff and attending the church. "I prayed about it and felt the Lord calling me to serve here," she told the paper. Over the years she worked with children, youth and adults, and helped connect local churches through Unity in the Community events, football game outreaches, school supply drives, Good News Clubs, prayer walks and community revivals.

She planned to keep serving on an hourly basis for events through the spring and early summer. The church held a thank-you barbecue lunch in her honor on April 19. Asked to sum up her 13 years in one word, she chose "an honor."

This is our own summary; the full story, by Katina Rice-Davis, is at The Woodruff Times (link below).
