Cedar Grove Baptist Church Marks 153 Years

The Woodruff Times reported on March 21, 2026 that Cedar Grove Baptist Church celebrated its 153rd anniversary on Sunday, March 8. Here is our summary.

The day began with the 10 a.m. service, where Rev. Allisondra Ellis preached. The anniversary program continued at 1:30 p.m. with guest preacher Rev. Dr. C. Dennis Rector, senior pastor of New Trinity Baptist Church in Lyman, who spoke on God's faithfulness through the church's 153 years.

Family, friends and members also welcomed back Deacon Veron Browning, a highlight of the day. "I'm still on a high from Sunday," said Rev. Mekesha Watson.
