Libertas Academy to Open Woodruff's First Public Charter School in 2026

In September 2025, The Woodruff Times reported that Libertas Academy Woodruff, a tuition-free public charter school, was set to open in August 2026 as the city's first public charter school. It planned to serve grades 4K–6 and add a grade each year up to 8th grade.
The plans included the Core Knowledge, Eureka Math and Core Virtues curricula, uniforms, free transportation from group bus stops, and a 4K program with SC First Steps. The school is on Fountain Inn Road. For current enrollment details, check the school's own site.
