Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Held for Plants on Main
Plants on Main, a boutique plant shop in downtown Woodruff, held its ribbon cutting in April 2025 with the mayor and council members after five months of quiet growth.
The Woodruff Times reported in May 2025 that Plants on Main, a boutique plant shop in downtown Woodruff, held its official ribbon cutting on Friday, April 25, 2025. Owner Amy Kleman was joined by Mayor Kenneth Gist, Mayor Pro Tem Toni Sloan, Councilman Jeff Wood, City Chaplain Rev. Derrick Scurry and dozens of community members.
According to the paper, the shop had opened about five months earlier without a formal launch and had already drawn customers from Columbia, Aiken, Greenville and North Carolina. "People drive by, see the storefront, and come in," Kleman told the paper. A grand opening celebration with refreshments and an expanded plant selection followed on Saturday, April 26.
Kleman said she wanted the shop to be a peaceful space, and that she and her husband Eric are proud to be part of the Woodruff community. "We love being here," she said.
Both events have passed. Read the full story at The Woodruff Times.
