2024: Two Restaurants Announced for One Space at 135 S. Main

In March 2024 the Post and Courier reported that Maverick Biscuit (breakfast and brunch) and Travinia Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar would share a renovated early-1900s building at 135 S. Main St., next to Conner Flynn's.

In March 2024, the Post and Courier's Chris Lavender reported that two restaurants planned to share one renovated building in downtown Woodruff.

Developers Van Broad and Kyle Frair had been renovating 135 and 137 S. Main St. since early 2023. The plan put two concepts in one space at 135 S. Main. Maverick Biscuit would serve breakfast and brunch from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Travinia Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar, which has other locations in Greenville, Lexington and Myrtle Beach, would serve dinner from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The paper said both aimed to open by May 1, 2024. The work added a bar and an upgraded kitchen, and kept the building's original floor.

Chef Sergio Briceno, who also works at Conner Flynn's Public House next door, said the second concept came about after talking with Frair. He told the paper he likes Woodruff because it is "family-oriented," and that he volunteers weekly at the local soup kitchen.

Frair said about 70 percent of Conner Flynn's customers come from outside the city, from places like Simpsonville, Roebuck, Five Forks and Gray Court. He predicted that downtown buildings would be full within three years. City Manager Lee Bailey said more restaurants were planned, including a brewery with a rooftop bar, and noted that Blades and Bristles had opened on South Main Street.

A note from us: this is a 2024 report of planned openings. We have not confirmed current hours or whether both restaurants are operating today, so please check with them before you go.
