Spartanburg Regional Opens New $9.5M Family Medicine Center in Woodruff

Spartanburg Regional's new family medicine office on Highway 101 opened in September, built larger than today's needs to keep pace with Woodruff's growth.

The Post and Courier reported on October 8, 2026 that Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System has opened a new family medicine center in Woodruff. Here is our summary.

The roughly 18,000-square-foot office at 101 Navarro Drive, off Highway 101, held its ribbon-cutting on September 24 and cost about $9.5 million. It has 29 patient exam rooms, an expanded lab, a dedicated procedure room and a large reception and waiting area. According to Sarah Beth Hammond, senior vice president of operations at the Medical Group of the Carolinas (part of Spartanburg Regional), the building has room for up to 10 providers — more than double its current staff — and sits on four acres with space to add more services. It replaces an older Woodruff practice the system had run for years.

The story frames the clinic as the health system planning ahead for Woodruff's growth: the paper describes Woodruff as the fastest-growing city in South Carolina, and City Manager Lee Bailey pointed to thousands of new homes in the pipeline, new industry, and the 103-acre Riverbend Athletic Complex expected to open the following year. Bailey said the new office means residents won't have to drive to Greenville or Spartanburg for quality care.
