Helping Hands Ministries of Woodruff scheduled its 2026 Golf Classic for Sept. 24 at Three Pines Country Club. The ministry was founded by area ministers in 1991 and now runs a food pantry, clothes closet and emergency help with bills.
The Woodruff Times reported on August 23, 2026 that Helping Hands Ministries of Woodruff would hold its 2026 Golf Classic on September 24 at Three Pines Country Club. The tournament raises money for the ministry's work providing food, financial assistance and other resources to Woodruff-area families.
About Helping Hands: The paper's story, drawing on the ministry's own website (hhow.org), says a group of area ministers founded it in 1991 to help neighbors with food and with utility bills. Local churches, businesses, civic groups and individuals gave the start-up money, and more than 150 families were helped in the first year with food, emergency bill assistance and prescription medications.
Today: Helping Hands has been at its current location since 1992 and helps thousands of people each year. It has more than 30 regular volunteers, a large food pantry, a clothes closet, supplies for babies and referral help. It depends on volunteers, donors, grants and prayer.
