Ruritan Club Collected Care-Bag Items for Gibbs Cancer Center Patients, Plus Water and Fans for Neighbors
The Greater Woodruff Area Ruritan Club, with Women Designed for Purpose and The Establishment, held a donation drive on July 11, 2026 at First Baptist Church Woodruff to fill care bags for Gibbs Cancer Center patients and give bottled water and fans to neighbors.
The Woodruff Times reported on July 10, 2026 that the Greater Woodruff Area Ruritan Club would hold a donation drive on Saturday, July 11, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Builders' Room at First Baptist Church in Woodruff.
The purpose: Donations were used to assemble care bags for patients being treated at Gibbs Cancer Center. Bottled water and fans were also collected for individuals and families in need during the summer heat.
What was requested: Comfort items such as lip balm, lotion, hand sanitizer, puzzle books, pens and colored pencils, travel tissues, bottled water, individually packaged snacks, hard candy and blankets.
Partners: The Ruritan Club organized the drive with Women Designed for Purpose and The Establishment.
