Neglected Woodruff Property Cleared as a New Home Takes Shape

A vacant, deteriorating property neighbors had worried about since 2023 has been cleared, and a foundation for a new home was being prepared by early April 2026.

The Woodruff Times reported on April 22, 2026 that a vacant property neighbors had worried about since October 2023 has been cleaned up. Here is our summary.

The house had sat open to the weather, with debris piling up and the structure getting worse. After residents asked the City of Woodruff about it, City Manager Lee Bailey confirmed a cleanup was scheduled. By early April 2026 the debris was gone, the old structure had been demolished and a foundation for a new residence was being prepared.

Neighbors told the paper they appreciated that the City followed through on its word, and they credited the new property owners with moving the redevelopment forward. The paper did not name the street.

This is our own summary; the full story, by Vareva Harris, is at The Woodruff Times (link below).
