Woodruff Prepares to Welcome Its New Spring Fling Festival
With Spartanburg skipping its Spring Fling in 2025, the City of Woodruff planned its own downtown spring festival for March 15, 2025, with food trucks, carnival rides and a Touch-a-Truck display.
The Woodruff Times reported in February 2025 that the City of Woodruff was planning a new spring festival downtown, stepping in after Spartanburg canceled its own Spring Fling that year.
According to the paper, the festival was set for Saturday, March 15, 2025, starting at noon, with Main Street closed from First Citizens Bank to Georgia Street. Plans included food trucks, carnival rides and a Touch-a-Truck display where children could see fire trucks and 18-wheelers up close. The city's events team said vendors, musical acts and children's activities were still being added.
"We wanted to give families a chance to enjoy a festive atmosphere close to home," City Manager Lee Bailey told the paper. Some downtown businesses planned sidewalk seating and specials, and organizers hoped the new downtown parking lot would be finished in time, with parking also available near City Hall, the library and nearby shopping centers.
This was the first Woodruff Spring Fling; the event has passed. Read the full story at The Woodruff Times.
