Riverbend project breaks ground in Woodruff
Construction began Oct. 8 on Riverbend, the 300-acre former Enoree Farms tract that will hold the city's River Bend Athletic Complex and a new Libertas Academy charter school.
SCBIZ reported that ground was broken on Oct. 8, 2025, for Riverbend, a 300-acre mixed-use development on land formerly known as Enoree Farms. The project began as a 30-acre sale from Reedy Land Co. to the City of Woodruff for a recreation facility, which became the River Bend Athletic Complex, planned for youth sports, adult leagues and community wellness. It then grew into a public-private partnership with True North and GMW Land Holdings after more than six parcels were assembled.
The groundbreaking started construction on the athletic complex and on Libertas Academy Woodruff, described as the area's first tuition-free public charter school for grades 4K through 8. Later phases call for road improvements and residential development, and at full build-out Reedy expects the project to represent about $50 million of investment.
