CAPREIT Announces Acquisition of Hart Townes in Woodruff, S.C.
Rental company CAPREIT says it bought Hart Townes, a new build-to-rent community of 157 three-bedroom townhomes in Woodruff, with first move-ins underway.
In a March 2026 press release, CAPREIT, a real estate company that owns and manages apartment communities across the U.S., announced it had acquired Hart Townes, a single-family build-to-rent community in Woodruff in Spartanburg County.
According to CAPREIT, Hart Townes has 157 three-bedroom townhomes built to be rented rather than sold. The company said construction started in 2025 and was scheduled to finish later in 2026, and that the first residents were already moving in at the time of the announcement. CAPREIT called it the newest rental property in the area.
The release said Hart Townes is the company's second build-to-rent community in the Upstate, after Baldwin Chase in Mauldin, which began leasing in 2024.
The purchase is one more sign of how quickly housing is being added in and around Woodruff. Anyone interested in renting there should check current availability and terms directly with the community.
