The Woodruff Times profiled Dr. Iasha K. Nichols, a 1992 Woodruff High School graduate who grew up in the Woodruff and Enoree area. She served more than 20 years in the U.S. Army, including in Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom and in Korea and Germany, working in telecommunications operations and later in soldier-advocacy roles such as Equal Opportunity Advisor and Wounded Warrior cadre.
The story covers her new rhyming children's book, Girl Grammy!, written for ages 3–5 and inspired by becoming a grandmother, and her faith-based apparel brand, A WITNESS, drawn from Isaiah 43:2. She credits her family, her faith and teachers at Woodruff High, and her message to young people in her hometown is not to quit. She now lives in Evans, Ga.
